More countries probably need to do so. China really didnt have a choice but it has a lot of bad side consequences.
Not to mention it cost a lot of money to enact a one child policy birth control not to mention you have to enforce and keep track of it and regulate it it a lot of 3rd world countries just dont have the infrastructure to do this.

So exactly why does one man have the right to tell another man how many kids you can have?
As far as I am concerned, if you can afford to have kids, then you can have as many as you want.
