why all the will ferrel hate? I think he's pretty funny. If you've ever seen the movie Stranger Than Fiction with Queen Latifah and Emma Thompson(Nanny McPhee, Harry Potter, etc) its one of his best movies.

I put him in the same category as Jerry Lewis. Frequently hilarious but unable to play anyone but himself.
So the same as Jack Black (though Jack is funny less often).

Does terrible, no range acting in movies were the acting bar is typically set low (comedy).
Tom Cruise is a good actor, stop getting hung up on his insane personal life. Jim Carrey has done many wonderful performances that I'm baffled as to why you'd even mention him, either you're trolling or don't have a co clue about acting. Nicholas Cage has been well... awful for a while, but once upon a time he was a respected method actor (the 80s). I feel bad for Hayden Christensen because he did a really great job in Life as a House, only to have his career destroyed by George Lucas' terrible green screen directing/writing in the Star Wars prequels, no one could give a decent performance under those circumstances.
