We showed the game to our friend Gordon Walton. We had known Gordon for many years, back in the days when he worked for Kesmai, our late great competitor. Gordon had since been with Sony for its Star Wars Galaxies game among other places. He knows games, especially online games.

Not only did we show him the game, but because Gordon knew us so well we showed him the development tools we had built around our special process – building the game online, in realtime, with tools for the entire team all in one package.

“I need this,” said Gordon. “I am about to start a special project and these tools will let us build and prototype fast and get something running in a hurry.” Gordon is not an excitable guy by nature but this had his adrenaline flowing. “This is just what I need! I want to license your engine.”

We had thought about offering our engine and tools to developers but we had expected that we would have to actually ship a game first, like Epic did with Unreal Tournament before they licensed the original Unreal Engine.

“It’s not productized yet,” we told Gordon. “There are whole sections of code that is only roughed in and not optimized for performance or security. And there are very few comments and very little documentation.”

He didn’t care. “We are going to have tons of engineers. We can finish it ourselves. We’re going to want to modify your source code for our special project anyway.”

Woah. You mean something else that happened in damn near every MMO ever happened in TOR's case as well? You're making quite the list.

PS: QQ more.

No I have always held Bio-Ware in very high regards, they have never ever disappointed me with the purchase of a BW product ever, until now.

One thread on the customer service forums is 8000+ pages long(its been broken up into 8 1000 page threads)

I dont know who is running BW's customer service department but they need to fired and all the csr's need to be retrained or something.

Deleting tickets, posts and threads, there are even examples of csr replies that are copy and pasted replies with the wrong customer info or it will have a reply that has nothing to do with the trouble ticket, a few of them have been posted on the customer service forums.

Even with a broken game you can still have great customer service, but professionalism in that department is lacking at EA/BW. That is the main reason why I am pissed and so are tens of thousands of customers that have been treated the same way, ignored.

I know all mmo's have issues but at least you would hear something from the developers besides telling people with top end machines please lower your graphic settings or tweak this and that.

Why dont they just admit they have a memory/coding issue, even nvidia developers are saying TOR has a memory issue now.

I love Star Wars look at my username.

I stuck with SWG for 2 1/2 years through all the crap, broken mechanics, and exploits because I love Star Wars and at least SWG dev's at least would admit there was a issue, sometimes it would take them a while to fix something but at least they would say "we have a issue".

With this game its like they are afraid to say anything because of the negative publicity.
