I will be getting a new phone next month and will be going with the Samsung galaxy note. not sure if you all have it in the states yet or not.

why can't phones work like a computer, i buy my own phone put whatever os i want on it, then pay a phone company for service. i don't understand why these phone companies need to have power over what i can do or put on my phone

No it's an LG, so made in South Korea, probably from old bicycles and leftover Chinese plastic.
