I was gonna post about how much my sister is eating tonight

It's a whole separate world with her. She's never been thin and for the last however many years since she got her insulin pump it's "I can eat whatever I want and my weight is a problem because of my diabetes" so she eats whatever she wants and her insulin pump pumps more.
Obviously she knows more about it than anyone, so it's not like basic logic matters. She considers herself active, and her diet okay.
I need to get out of here

my daughter has a friend that, while she's still thing, she isn't healthy at all, and she has this same way of thinking. She finally did get her pump, but she was too sick to get it for many months, but wouldn't listen to anyone that told her that the cookies and coke and candy bars were the cause. If she stopped being active she'd be in the same situation I'm sure.

It really bothers me most of the time. She can say things that are outright wrong that don't even matter to anyone in the world, but when I tell her she's wrong (which I do, all the time) she's so offended.
Imagine when I argue with her about her health. She will dismiss me in one second because ooooh I'm the healthy one without diseases, so it's easy for me. The fact I watch my diet and run 4-5 miles a day, then go to the gym 3+ days a week on top of that apparently doesn't matter.

will she go to the gym with you if you asked her? Not that you want to spend more time with her, but maybe if she saw how active you are in person it might sink into her skull that she's a lazy layabout?

You can't make people give a damn. She needs to meet some people in their 40's who have diabetes that did what she is doing when they were younger. The fact that most of them don't have any feet and are on constant pain meds might reach her.

So true. And yeah the sister is gonna be blind soon, the pump can only control so much...
It's like slow painful suicide, although she obviously doesn't see it that way.
