(Seriously, the main reason i do this, apart from the fact that it tastes lovely, is because my 2 beers stretches out to 4 glasses of beer, making it last all evening.)

Mixing a sprite with a Heineken would actually have a lower calorie count than drinking a Heineken alone.

I have to ask... Why, in the first place, do you drink beers that need something put in them in order to make them not taste like crap?
I actually like lighter beers. I dont dilute them to make them taste better, they taste fine on their own in my opinion, but i do like the taste of them diluted (if that makes sense?). The diluted mix is called a Lager Shandy in the UK and it is very popular. I grew up drinking them because my parents didnt mind making weak ones for us kids, working up to stronger ones as teens, then regular ones/ straight beer as adults. So because i grew up with the taste, i just love them. So thats why i drink them, because i like the nostalgic taste, although sometimes i just want a plain beer, i dont want a Shandy.
I was under the impression that a 'shandy' was beer mixed with lemonade.
European lemonade is a fizzy drink. Sooz says 7up to speak in your lowly American terminology.
Yup, sprite and 7-up are the closest thing i can get to British lemonade over here.

American lemonade is generally cloudy and yellow, even if it is carbonated. British lemonade is clear and tastes more like sprite or 7-up. Not that i would know the difference or anything  so no, i will stand by my original statement: i have not been able to find BRITISH STYLE lemonade in the grocery stores around here.

Lemonade - Lemonade in England is a clear, sparkling, lemon flavoured drink that is either drunk as it is or added to lager to make shandy. Seven-up and sprite would both qualify as lemonade in England.
