The awkward face happens to me a lot. For some reason I can remember just about everybody I've met, so I'll see them in the gym or at a store and just kind of stare at them for a second. Once I realize they don't recognize me then I just keep walking. Otherwise I act like I was trying to remember who they are and then greet them

I had a friend like that. He was super-smart. Went to Johns Hopkins, failed out his first year there because he played video games through all of his finals. Now he smokes a lot of weed and goes to a local community college. Haven't seen him in years...his hot sister went to college with me, though. We had biology together.

why do people assume that everyone desires to be a societal top 1%. whether it be in wealth or just the gratification that you are doing a job no one will ever care about 100 years from now but in your little inner circle is the most desired job. so many people just assume that playing into a certain boundary is the only way to enjoy life. i have much respect for the heroine and meth addicts whom party hard and REALLY enjoy life if but for a brief and i dont know but id assume great high? has to be something in it to keep em coming back and if that results in the death of them by their 30th year then awesome, they win and we all win since they are not around all that long. and besides id prefer someone at mcdonalds that had the brains to go to a top school rather than my typical so cal mecicant speak english but i know numbers person i usually see. maybe they would be able to understand no mayo.
if this insults anyone im sorry, im a bit drunk i start early on thursdays.
Hey, if you're happy shooting heroin in your arms and dying at 30, that's fine...but I'd rather be the guy dying in his 80's surrounded by money, knowing that I experienced more than the seedy back-alleys of the same stupid town I grew up in.
Money can't buy happiness, but it buys everything else.

This. I can totally understand how they might not know if they should say something to you or not about Kaitlyn. You have to set the tone for them, as difficult as that may be. They're just afraid and don't want to hurt you.

The death of a child is not a regular kind of thing, nobody in a first world country expects their kids to go before they do.
One of my best friends growing up has a 6 year old girl with Muscular Distrophy, they know already that she won't reach her 21st birthday. I don't even know how you could possibly prepare yourself for the inevitable, let alone deal with a sudden death.
