I think the wines will be both better and cheaper for sure  We aren't well known to have many great wines out on the east coast so most of it came from California or Washington anyhoo

meh, California wine is ok, but at least in the kinds I drink, it's certainly not even the best US location. Washington and Willamette Valley wines are much better, and not usually much higher in price.
i laugh every time i see people say this because they're judging it on the wine they buy in the store.

I buy wine anywhere I can find it, but the best was from a farmer's market in Eugene Oregon. Called Sweet Cheeks, was a Pinot Noir.
I brought back from Fallbrook wine with me when I visited there, The Pinot Grigio was pretty good.
Willamette Valley is world renown for it's Pinots, so you just sound like a moron when you say that you laugh at people that drink their wines. There is a reason that Willamette wines are $20 a bottle, and California wines are $7 a bottle.
