The focus this year is on 100W bulbs. Bulbs such as refrigerator or small chandelier sizes probably never.
Doesn't matter. The new bulbs are supposed to emit the equivalent of 100W of light while only using 72W. So you're using less wattage and getting the same amount of light.
So yeah "technically" you can never buy a 100W bulb again after they start enforcing this, but it won't matter because you can still get incandescents and they'll still be just as bright.

in my opinion, all current lighting should be switched to infrared LEDS because it would be cool to walk around wearing night vision goggles

My new desk lamp is one of those LED things, and it replaced a halogen lamp that was at least 10 years old. I'm still not sure if I like it or not, but they're supposed to last a long time and be very energy efficient. I imagine mine is as it gives off almost no heat when it's on.

Says the person who defeated the ONLY advantage incandescents have, up-front cost, by stockpiling them. They cost more just in replacement costs, let alone energy costs, as they require far more frequent replacement, they're more fragile, and of course they take more energy.
I'm not sure who you helped out on that one. Certainly not yourself.
