lol incandescents aren't going away.
The new law doesn't ban incandescents. It merely states that all light bulbs must adhere to the new energy efficient regulations. Well when they first passed the law, no incandescents met the new standards (that was like...2007). But the enforcement wasn't set to begin till this month.
Well hey guess what? In the intervening five years, incandescent bulb manufacturers figured out how to make their bulbs to give out the same wattage and yet meet the new efficiency standards. You know those bulbs you've been stocking up on for three months? They already meet the new standards, sucker.

Because of ever changing ROHS standards, incandescents may go the way of the 8 track before any significant shift to them comes in to fruition anyway.

The focus this year is on 100W bulbs. Bulbs such as refrigerator or small chandelier sizes probably never.
