I agree. We have no place violating the borders of another soverign nation with military forces without it expressly being allowed by its legitimate government.

In my mind, this is what our military should be used for. Get in, get it done right, get out. Not "find a new place to live for a few decades".
It is the way the world is going. Globalized world requires globalized action. Less need for mass forces and occupation, more need for special ops and specific, short infiltrations. Of course we need a standing military but the full scale invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq were foolish.
