Got anything to back that up? A blog perhaps?

I got married so I'd have a dishwasher.

I adopted a Chinese kid so I'd have a rice cooker.

There are 5 people in my house and it is still a waste to use the dishwasher.

wait wait...is OP (and other weirdos in here) trying to say that a dishwasher is a bad thing? lololol

You eat your food, scrape the scraps in the trash or wherever you want them, and stick it in the dishwasher...then at about 10PM when you're winding down, stick a tablet in it, set it, and let it clean the dishes. then when you wake up, it's done...clean dishes waiting to be used/put away.

you seriously LIKE having to wash each dish by hand? lol...Maybe if dishwashers were loud, but the new ones are super quiet and efficient.

this place gets more and more weird every day.

Incorrect. Modern dishwashers use much less water than doing them by hand.

This thread has made me feel less guilty about using the dishwasher. There are still things that should be done by hand though such as knives and big pans that take up too much space to be worth it.

You didnt have a dishwasher before?

Doing dishes and folding laundry are the banes of my existence. I'd rather clean the damn toilet.

I would come and clean your toilet before doing any of the above.

Washing knives in the machine is like taking a Porsche to a carwash. You just don't do it.

My wife (gf at the time) resisted getting a dishwasher for about six months after we moved in together. She thought it was not needed in a two person household. It took some time, but I won that one.

And rofl@waste. If it makes my life easy and I can afford it...
