If you think my opinion is idiotic, re-read yours.
Dont worry I will give my opinion anyways.
The PvP MMO is NOT a "niche" market, Mythic is just a "niche" company.

Wrong, you can see in the slow-mo replay it doesn't hit.

I don't think people some people understand how hard it is to go so high/fast, while spinning and contorting the board/yourself in mid-air. Your timing on launch and landing has to be near perfect. I guess if you don't know snowboarding at all, you'll completely miss much of the flourish.
Touching the slope like that has little to do with the quality of the landing. He had control throughout and didn't touch the slope to stabilize, and such minor contact wouldn't help considering his momentum. It was just his body spacing, to avoid touching the slope he'd have to 'pull back' which wouldn't work out too well. Afaik you don't have to treat the slope like hot lava...

First of all, it has always been that your back hand is allowed to hit the ramp as long as it is a certain distance down the ramp. It did not help him stabilize at all and it is very difficult to keep that hand from hitting while trying to balance.
That said, the only reason he got a 100 was because it was his victory lap. He had already won the competition and most other boarders would have just taken an easy run down the pipe. He instead decided to pull 2 tricks that have never been done in competition before. One I believe had never been done by anyone, anywhere. The 100 was probably more of a sign of respect for how amazing the guy is and how committed he is to giving the audience a good showing.
The guy progresses the sport every time he goes down the pipe. It is complete dominance of a sport.
