better make it epic, start today with the 14 days of valentines, give her something small each day, then the big gift on the 14th.
or be super smooth like my dad, and give her a different colored rose each day for the week or two leading up to it, with a line from a poem tied to each rose.

Nothing. We just bought a house and ill be spending every day for the next two weeks painting.

Just using you as an example of a few others here. It does not take much money, and just a little thought to do "something" nice. Some of you in this thread need some romance classes. Remember this thread when some of you start your "SO is leaving me" threads. Despite what your SO says acknowledgement is always appreciated.

Nice dude! I do not agree with the 14 days of crap but if that is you, do it. It just sets unnecessary expectations for future V days which locks you in. Best of luck!
