I am going mild this year with this + chain, which is symbolic for us.
And some usual Roses and Dinner followed by the black mamba.

Im trying to convince him not to do Valentines this year, or at least to not make a big fuss of it. It's his birthday the week before, so he's getting totally spoiled then, and it's hard to come up with something else for just a week later. Ideally i'd just cook a really nice meal, we'd have some wine, exchange cards and, well, you know

That sounds very nice! Something written from the heart in the card is always much better than any gift anyway....
......unless it is sex (I know you covered this), alcohol, or electronics.

Lol, well he's getting a top-end gaming keyboard and mouse for his birthday, so electronics are well and truly covered!
I usually write him something nice in his card, so that's that covered. If i can think of something, i'll paint him something, as he's always saying i should paint more.
