" Facebook Inc. filed for an initial public offering that could value the company at between $75 billion to $100 billion, putting the eight-year-old social network on track to be one of the biggest Web stock market debuts of all time, even as it tries to keep up with skyhigh expectations"

None.

It will be worth less than myspace in 2 years. Myspace was once valued in the range of 65 billion, now it's worth maybe 1/10th of 1% of that.

Way to go Murdoch.

Nah.

Apple makes stuff in sweatshops in the 3rd world then sells them at hugely inflated prices to idiots in the first world.

Facebook sells information about it's users and ads based upon the number of those users.

Totally different business models. The first is a tried and tested way to make billions. The second is a tried and tested way to become irrelevant and meaningless when the next new thing comes out.

It's possible they might stick around and be popular for long enough to make some cash off their stock, but I think the trend has already turned against them. Advances in adblocking software has already drastically cut into their income...and that's just going to continue to get worse.

Ad based revenue isn't a sustainable business model if you are actually hosting the site the ads are being viewed on.

I might try it and dump it at any sign of droppage.

Ick... no way. I don't see it as a possibility for that stock to go anywhere but down in the long run.

Now, if it had been offered when the site first started picking up traction...

I put some into it.

I plan on selling in about 6 months.
