It wasn't there
.. however, a couple of clues
1: there was a small square white powder right where I though it would be
I went and looked in the trash.. found the cover to it
could not find the phone

is it an iPhone? if so, does it have ios5 on it? if so, get on the iCloud and lock it, and set it to ping... you can even wipe it if your that worried... but only if iso5/iPhone
