Presuming Romney gets the nomination, I'll actually give him some serious consideration. His China policy is pretty much the *only* area where we agree, but that's pretty important to me. Obama rattled some sabers in the state of the union about getting tough on China, but I don't see where it's being effective.

My biggest problem with Obama is that he's too far to the right of me, and no Republican is ever going to be more appealing to me in that respect. If he'd had a serious primary challenge by a true liberal such as Kucinich or Dean, I'd have likely voted against Obama in the primary, but I'd still almost certainly vote for Obama in the general against almost any Republican.

Actually, the executive powers he has, he's been remarkably successful with. Bin Laden. Dead. Gadaff. Dead. Iraq. Troops Withdrawn. You should, perhaps, look up the powers of the executive branch sometime.

even used his executive powers to create waivers so they didn't have to fulfill the rules he put in place.

sure he has done things, but i dont recall killing bin laden nor ghadaffi in his campaign.

i see there may be some confusion as i reworded my initial response and didn't proofread so well...in no way did i mean to make it seem like he did nothing.

IMO lobbyists are a big problem as they go hand and hand with corruption and waste in the government.

Lobbyist and special interests are a necessary evil and have been since our country was founded. James Madison actually used them as an example to keeping the government moving and not let a super majority form. I'm not saying that I'm for lobbyists, but I accept them as a side effect of our country and political system.

Yes, they are. There's no way for someone to get elected without the aide of big money though. A president can't just change the system. Obama was certainly ambitious in promising to eliminate lobbyist from the white house, but when he started looking at the list of qualified people to nominate for cabinet positions and for positions within his administration, I think he got a reality check on how deep the corruption (which we in the US know as "politics" goes).

But on the bright side, at least Obama signed an act that effectively ended the Bill of Rights by allowing government to indefinitely detain citizens without due process
