No, it's a real show. It's aired on TV and everything...

The drama is certainly manufactured.

Most of those units go for almost nothing and are full of old clothes, pictures of dead people no one ever heard of, and christmas decorations where half the lights don't work.

better than the guy on there who through his NES was worth $15k

I think the majority of the show is real. There are some terribly fake versions out there. Storage Hunters is the worst of em all.

Yes and no.

They do bid and win lockers against average joes. Then the producers put rare merchandise in them to be discovered. They've traced the purchase of several 'found' items back to the show/producers before the storage lockers were auctioned.

starving hysterical naked, dragging themselves through the streets,
angelheaded hipsters burning for the ancient heavenly connection
to the starry dynamo in the machinery of night.

I've heard that Storage Hunters was on TV before Storage Wars AND the people on Storage Wars were once featured on Storage Hunters (early episodes). Further making me believe that its all fake. Did anyone watch that Storage Wars episode where Linda, I think her name is, takes over the auctioning when he husband falls ill? Isn't it a little strange that things don't go 'her way' with the units? Most of units were almost bare empty.

This ^! I had a hunch that something like this was going on because wasn't it strange that they found 1 or 2 awesome, rare items in a s***ty-junk unit?
