This changes completely when you're married and financially obligated to fix a family car whether it's yours or hers.

Bottom line is if your ass is on the line to fix it if it breaks then you should keep an eye on it. Being right is not as satisfying when you're dirt broke.

Or if you know she's an idiot (just assuming this isn't the first time she's proven to be less than useless with something mechanical or common knowledge) you at least ask about it or something.

Not his fault though, as much as it truly pains me to admit it. She sounds like a real winner.
