with butter, strawberries and onions sliced up on top, wrapped in tin foil and baked or grilled.

it takes out the bad flavors and a lot of the saltiness.

Ahhh, so you really don't like salmon.

do you put anything on your salmon? if you do then you don't like it!

I do not put anything on my salmon and I do like it. You can tell how much someone doesn't like fish by how much stuff they put on it. My wife and I are similar on fish. We both rarely put anything on it because we want to taste the fish.

I just pan sear it in a little olive oil. Seasoning is salt and pepper. Hit it with a squeeze of lemon when it's done. I've made a marinade before with a little olive oil, soy, orange juice, chopped garlic, grated ginger, salt and pepper. It's really good.

See Jezz? This is someone else that like fish. What you said though makes no sense....if you don't put anything on it then you don't like it? wtf?

you claim because I prefer the taste of salmon with strawberries and onions, because it cuts down on the flavors I don't care as much for, that I don't like salmon. The same can be said for anyone who puts anything on it, like lemon, butter, olive oil, salt pepper... these things ALL change the taste somehow, otherwise WHY WOULD YOU USE THEM?

I really don't want to get in the middle of your argument with Jezza, but I totally get what you're saying. My husband loves tartar sauce and I don't get it. I want to taste the fish. He seems to like fish more than me, though, so it's totally confusing.

Opps, I read tha wrong up above. but yeah, you are masking the flavor in my opinion, not enhancing it.

I start there. Then I will throw in whatever fits my mood at the time. Ginger, smoked paprika + cumin, honey, dill... whatever. I always start with a cedar plan, a lemon, some olive oil and some fresh cracked pepper, though.

Not with strawberries, but I have tried it with things. I'll stick to my cedar plank.

there is a difference between covering up the flavors and enhancing them.

Jezza, it has to do with your wording, not your choice of seasonings.

You flat out said something to the effect of, "works good for covering up the bad flavors".... That pretty much implies that you don't like salmon or that you're not buying good salmon.
