How come in all these zombie movies and shows the zombies only eat living people or living people they just killed? Shouldn't they be non discriminatory? I think they should eat each other.

this was even more confusing in 28 days/weeks later. like.. they were still alive. they just had super rabies or some profanity and they never once turned on each other. but you know.. billions of rats were running the fk away from them out of fear or being eaten.
i get it as far as a story plot goes, though. zombies that eat each other are not scary. the ones in i am legend (the book) would attack each other. the ones that were more zombie than vampire anyway. the fully conscious ones that retained their memories didn't do that.

If you think of it in terms of an evolution/survival thing the virus or whatever is trying to spread so is seeking out tissue to infect not already infected tissue it makes sense but that assumes a lot, lol.
You would still expect fighting among themselves though as survival works that way too. Too many mouths not enough food and all that.

Lots of animals won't eat dead things, I don't see it as any huge jump to believe zombies might act the same way.
