I generally do angelfood, but pound cake would work fine as well.
Biscuits are ok, but it always seems dry to me. I prefer my biscuits with gravy.

Angelfood is already moist though, and then you just have to buy strawberries and whipped cream and not make biscuits that will just be dry anyway.
But I will agree that biscuits is the correct/classic way historically.
