Oh, that explains it then... Deaf guy walking here so... I know absolutely NOTHING about music except for one thing... it's unbelievably annoying. Even when I'm riding in my mom's car, I'll be like *turns off radio* and my mom'll be like "What the hell?" I'll be like "Uh, it's annoying..." then we get in a bitch-slap about how I should turn off my hearing aid, ignore, or whatever... I'll be like, "So you want me to turn off my hearing aid... The one you paid 2 grand for me to be aware of my surroundings..." then she just shuts up and sits there fuming driving wherever we're going... And we do this EVERY damn time I get in the car with her...

I would be annoyed too if a deaf guy kept telling me to turn off my music... I get how annoying bg noise is if you're trying to talk to someone, but damn... You'd get a "walk to where ever it is you wanna go next time" from me if you pulled that crap... be nice to your mother and let her have her music, after all she isn't the deaf one

ah, makes perfect sense then. Sorry to hear about your hearing problem. I wasnt aware, or maybe I just forgot.

Come on man, turn the hearing aid off. I'm deaf too but I don't go around telling people to change the situation to suit me, especially when I can solve the problem myself.
On another note (ooh a pun!) how much can you hear? Music is awesome and it sucks to miss out. If you have enough hearing to understand the difference between mid and low tones, try getting a nice headset and listening to some stuff on youtube. You don't have to understand the lyrics to enjoy music.
