I can't really nail down a style. I know what I like. I like hardwood floors, and I despise carpet. Cherry cabinets. Granite countertops. Wine cellar. Wet bar. Large, covered deck for entertaining. 5 or more acres, with the majority wooded. Multi-car garage.

I am pretty happy with my house in Hawaii it made the front page of the home section when it was built in the '60's.
What I would like is a one story house a U shape with the open U being a courtyard facing the ocean and it being nesteld into a hill with the back of the U against the earth.
I already have some designs sketched but at my age now my next move will probably be to a condo near the bars of Honolulu, or out to Chang Mai Thailand, if I retire early, w/out a significant other.

One where my neighbors aren't 20 feet away - on 2 sides. I'd have neighbors on 3 sides if I didn't have a corner lot.
We *had* our dream home, just outside Colorado Springs: 3987 sq ft on 27000 sq ft of land. Plenty of room for everyone, a specific room for everything...*sigh*... I wouldn't mind living in the home
I grew up in either -- sitting on the high spot on the property, 5 acres, stream in the back, pond for irrigation, blackberry bushes along the stream. Never truly appreciated that home until after I realized how awesome it was to not be packed in like sardines.
