I remember my compuserve number ended in ,36. We were all numbers. Then I went to my brothers house to check out his new Mac and they had AOL that had some graphics on it! AND they got to pick their own names! So I went and found the DOS version of AOL and loved it!

Wow I've never heard it called that but as soon as I read it I knew EXACTLY what you were talking about.
I remember having a batch file that I would run that would prompt me for what I wanted to play, and it would copy the appropriate autoexec and config.sys files and reboot.
eww.. sad to say, it was W95 that really started the end of THAT bs.
