For those of us that have been using PC's since the early 90's, doing the IRQ shuffle was a dance we all had to do to get our modems, soundcards and voodoo cards (when they came out) working. I kinda miss it, made owning a computer a bit of a challenge! Now it's all boring plug and play. Hmph!

NO!

*I miss it like a bad case of the crabs. I miss it like adjusting autoexec.bat and config.sys every 5 minutes!

Dont worry I will give my opinion anyways.

It was the primary reason I never had a printer on my current PC. It was just so much easier without losing that space.

Ahh, the good old days, which also included the memory management shuffle to get all your DOS drivers loaded in just the right order without running out of memory (loadhigh/emm386/himem.sys sound familiar?)

It goes along with having an I: drive so your cluster size wasnt absolutely ridiculous on a largish for the day drive.

A: B: floppies C: drive 1 base partition D: drive 2 base partition drive e: f: g: drive 1 partitions drive h: i: drive 2 partitions..

I ran a 2 line BBS so I had all sorts of fun making everything work

For some odd reason I was reading this as ICQ and thinking "ICQ is still around?"

Started fooling around with PCs around '94 and I never had to play with IRQs, although I did/do know what they are....
