Heat and gentle massage. If you have anything lavender (proper lavender, not just "lavender scented", which is usually nothing like real lavender. Dr Teal's lavender bath stuff is awesome.), soak in a hot lavender bath and keep gently massaging it while you are in the water.

How do you get rid of muscle knots?

I prefer a hot shower over a bath. I like being able to have the water hit directly where I'm hurting. A good massage helps, too. If it's in the neck, I take Excedrin Tension Headache. For anywhere else, I take Aleve. If it's really bad, I'll use a heating pad in addition to all that.
