Actually I named all 3 elements of what he did. Not just the dismemberment.

A) have to kill the person
and
B) more likely than not dispose of the body (unless they're crazy)

Basically your only argument is that he is insane because he dismembered her.
Forget the fact that he most likely planned the murder for months ahead of time.
Forget the fact that he killed a person who he hated (and not a total stranger) which is extreme but logical
Forget the fact that he attempted to cover up the crime to avoid being punished.
^all actions of a sane person.
I think you are confusing insanity with, "he shouldn't have been executed because his mother deserved to be killed".
