Don't most breakfast cereals contain more or less enough for most people?

I think it entirely depends on how much sunlight there is where you live. I can't imagine that everyone in the PNW is a non-breakfast eater.

On a side note, I went and looked at foods high in Vitamin D... then looked at foods high in iron and found this gem:

"Whale, beluga, meat, dried (Alaska Native)"

Awesome! I should start eating beluga meat, but watch my cholesterol... ROFL

There isn't a sufficient natural source of vitamin D through foods, its converted by sunlight into vitamin D from cholesterol.

fish oil supplement is as close as you get, I think.

Edit: and if you start eating beluga, I hope someone clubs you to death... they're too cute to eat.

Getting several hours of sunlight a day can be troublesome in Wisconsin. Especially if you work during the day when the sun sets at 5-7..

Get a blood test before you try to supplement it. Yes, they say that "most" people are deficient and I thought I was, too... but I recently had a blood test that showed that my levels are fine. Check out if there's a problem before you try to fix it.

You only need about 15 minutes of direct sunlight.

Are you sure you even need it?

My daughter's doc said that nearly everyone in the PNW is deficient if they aren't taking some kind of supplement.

My doc said its everybody in the northern hemisphere, pretty much (obviously at varying levels, though). My last level said i was low but i forgot to ask what dose to take so im still not taking anything.
