Yup those 2 people kissing... they should stop kissing and just sit down and shut up. This isn't what you mean, but this is how you come off with this reply to a story about 2 gay people kissing.
There is nothing here but normal human behavior, nothing is being shoved in your face.
The only reasonable target of your chagrin here is the media, for posting this story. But guess what? You don't have to read it. And interpreting it as some offense done by gay people makes you look dense, bigoted, or both. (I interpret it as being dense)

I take it none of you guys have observed a military homecoming before? These are military people coming home from a deployment. They've been away from their families/friends/loved ones anywhere from 4-24 months. The military's PDA rules are relaxed dramatically at these events. Wives literally jump on their husbands all the time and ram their tongues down each others throats. In this regard, it's obviously no different.
But the repeal of DADT is new, which makes seeing two dudes or two chicks making out at one of these things new. It's not these 2 people that are making a statement. It's all over the news and social media because we haven't really seen an image like this before. Big deal.
Go back to reading Harry Potter, watching Firefly, or playing a Star Wars game.
Yeah I mentioned this on like page one and was done with it, lol.
As for the public displays in day to day; I don't like it from anyone... gay, straight or someone loving up on their freaking dog in the park. Holding hands, a peck on the cheek or the like is cute (gay or straight) as it shows affection but any more than that is just disrespectful of those around you.
Again that is day to day. I have been the one returning during a homecoming more than once and I can tell you after 6 months or more all bets are off when you see your family for the first time and I'm cool with that.

Thehunt wrote it best. Although the media blows so many things out of proportion, in comparison you don't read that much about homosexuals. It's interesting when people like Rho jump onto gay-topic stories so much faster.
