They may have started out that way, but they didn't end that way. When they rested control from Don Kirshner, they took over their musical career and wrote many of their own songs, played their own instruments and sang everything, including their backing vocals. The only studio musician on that album was their friend and producer, Chip Douglas.
Bottom line - they're a band and I love their music.
Ahh, that's what fooled me. Heard em referred to as a boy band and didn't get it.
Why aren't the Stones or the Eagles a boy band?
