well to know my dad i'll give you small amount of information on him. when they found out i was born with a birth defect, he immediately had a vasectomy as to prevent having any more broken babies. this was not kept a secret from me. i feel that his reason should DEFINITELY not have been told to me. because i've always known my mom wanted 2 more kids and my dad was like this one is defective. we're not having more defective babies.

That sucks pretty bad, you were used as an excuse, and worse yet they told you I take it repeatedly.
In the end though for the sake of our own peace of mind, you have to let it go and just realize he too was defective, only in a different way.

always amazed me how I could hear my dads voice even if I was blocks away from my house playing with friends
Yeah we didn't need cell phones back then. My dad would shout our names and it was like hearing distant thunder. Even if we didn't hear it, our friends would and tell us.
