Its on a situation by situation basis though. If someone has a loved one that has passed I dont go up to them and say, "well theyre probably better off dead than living on this stinking planet" or something crude like that.
However if I think someone needs to hear a hard truth whether they want to or not they will hear it.  That way there is rarely ever any miscommunication or misunderstanding of where one stands with me. Id rather be upfront and honest with people. That way I dont waste invested time and energy into a relationship/friendship to have him/her find a trait to be undesirable enough to end said friendship.

I try, I often don't succeed when it comes to strangers doing stupid crap with their kids. usually related to taking them outside without covering their feet or not having a coat or blanket for them, even though they put one on themselves.
of course, in the winter time. summertime, people with their babies out in the sun for hours and hours is another rant though.
I don't otherwise really have a need to talk to random people or a have much of a need to edit what I say, as I don't walk around making judgments on everyone all the time. (unless my daughter and I are people watching.)
