Likewise in Texas it's impossible to find any place that will sell refrigerators without an ice machine. Not a relevant question. lol. I grew up in South Texas, and I assure you, I knew MANY people without central air...or air conditioning of any kind. and our refrigerator never had an ice machine. -----signature----- I realize now I do not fear death. Dang- I don't know how they survived! We lived in North Texas and I can't think of a single place in the Dallas area without A/C. And I just remember my dad was SO MAD when shopping for a fridge right after we moved there because no one had them without ice makers (they were $100 more with the ice maker) and he didn't want to pay for one...he finally had to give up and get it with an ice maker, and he was so glad later that he did I also remember the car we moved down with was a Plymouth Valiant- the exterior was a glittery dark brown and the interior was black vinyl and there was no AC in the car (we had just moved from Washington State). That car was gone within the first couple months, rofl. -----signature----- There are no automatic doors, just very polite ninjas

	We spent a couple of summers without A/C because my parents couldn't afford it. Nights were the worst -- bathing before bed helped, but seemed like I spent half the night rolling around trying to find a spot that was still cool. My grandfather never did have air conditioning where he lived in rural South Texas. Lots of folks in the area where he lived didn't have A/C, because they were dirt poor. A few still didn't even have indoor plumbing. -----signature----- I realize now I do not fear death. I fear my daughter will not be free when I die. - NR, #iranelection
