Count up your yes's and post the total

NO Did you not have a job in High School?
NO Did you get allowance?
YES Do you know how to cook?
NO Did your parents pay (in part or full) your college education?
NO Did your parents buy you or give you a car (new or old)?
NO Did your parents ever pay for any of your bills? (car insurance, phone, credit card etc.)
YES Did you have your own room?
YES Did your family own a computer before the year 2000?
YES Have you ever received a gaming console as a gift?
YES Did you live in your parents home after the age of 21?
YES Did you participate in organized sports outside of school?
NO Did you have "Central Air" growing up?
NO Did you go out to dinner for anything other than special occasions?
NO Did any of your parents not work?
YES Did you ever have a babysitter that wasn't family?
NO Did your family have a maid/housekeeper?

7 Yes
13 No
1 Both

And I agree with the people above on some of the questions. How is having a babysitter that is not family part of being spoiled? Somehow I think it was cheaper for the next door neighbour to watch us, than to have a family member drive in out of town.

Same with the cooking question. Does having to do your own laundry count as being spoiled too?

Also, I seem to remember there being a lot more kids doing organized sports back then.

Did you live in a house? (i.e. own not rent) Yes but not till I was in high school
Did your parents own any property outside of your home? (i.e. timeshare, summer home) No
Did your parents own a boat/ATV/jetski etc? No
Did your parents own more than one car? Yes but one was a junker and there were seven kids in the house, so it was a necessity not a luxury
Did you go to private school? No
Did you not have a job in High School? No, was working since I turned 16
Did you get allowance? No
Do you know how to cook? Yes but not sure why this is relevant to being spoiled...
Did your parents pay (in part or full) your college education? Not one red cent
Did your parents buy you or give you a car (new or old)? Yes my mother did (my parents are divorced)
Did your parents ever pay for any of your bills? (car insurance, phone, credit card etc.) No
Did you have your own room? Never
Did your family own a computer before the year 2000? Yes because my Dad worked in IT
Have you ever received a gaming console as a gift? lololol no
Did you live in your parents home after the age of 21? No
Did you participate in organized sports outside of school? No
Did you have "Central Air" growing up? I lived all over the place so I don't know about Washington State and some other places when I was younger, but in Texas there's no such thing as a house without Central Air. Likewise in Texas it's impossible to find any place that will sell refrigerators without an ice machine. Not a relevant question.
Did you go out to dinner for anything other than special occasions? No
Did any of your parents not work? Yes, step-mom did not work outside the home
Did you ever have a babysitter that wasn't family? No
Did your family have a maid/housekeeper? lololol no

Yes- 7 (but in the interests of relevancy I would strike two of the yeses, maybe even three of them)

Not sure how anyone can answer No to this poorly worded question.

It's easy. No. My parents never paid for any of those things for me while I was living at home and sure as hell didn't pay for any of them when I moved out. If I wanted it I had to pay for it myself.

So you didn't have a drivers license or learners permit until you had a job?
You never used their house phone to call long distance?

That's why it's a poorly worded question. They paid for all of your bills until you had a job.

Explain the knowing how to cook one? I would think it should be opposite, if you can't cook it's because your parents do everything for you, or you all eat out all the time...

I believe he was meaning like a cell phone.

Those didn't exist when I was living at home.

My parents first phone had a party line. That was fun.

A driver's license isn't a "bill". It's a one-time expense (the license itself was $30 and driver's ed was free). But no they never paid for my insurance, phone lines, they never even co-signed on anything for me. They had me on their insurance policy while I was living at home (and I didn't even get my license till I was 17) but if I wanted to keep my license (and not have it confiscated by them) I had to have a job and pay for the cost difference in insurance.

edit: and actually I had a job a year before I got my license. I worked at McDonald's and rode my bicycle to work and back. We lived about 3 miles away so it wasn't that bad. Even after I got my license, I didn't have my own car and didn't always have access to the family vehicle so I still rode my bicycle most of the time.
