Oh yes, yes it is. Where's Mangler.
You're not going to find many modern players who could score on Scottie Pippen or Dennis Rodman. Defense is in a rather miserable state, today, because the game has become much more about pure strength than about finesse. Pippen could dominate pretty much every small player in the league today -- Kobe could probably outsmart Pippen, and Rose could outplay him, but few players would be able to even get a shot off.
Unfortunately, it makes the game less fun to watch. It's not worse, necessarily, just boring.

You just mentioned 2 hall of fame players and two of the best defenders in NBA history. Of course there aren't going to be many players like them.
What about watching Dwight? Best post defender in the league. How about Serge Ibaka? He got 11 blocks in a game a week ago. How about Lebron, he does everything at an elite level, including defense. How about watching Joakim Noah? He got 18 rebounds last game, very Rodman-like.

Well, Noah had 18 rebounds again today. He's one of the best rebounders in the league, consistently, every year. Check his TRB%
