Bold type = nerve pain = pressure on nerve = bone pressing on nerve = chiropractor

so you would tell an amputee with pain that seems to come from their missing limb that a bone was pressing on their nerve?

Actually, I do know. I actually read her threads from the "It's never lupus" files. Hence, the joke.

That is in incredibly poor taste then.

I guess that myself, personally, I would have laughed at the comment, since the back pain clearly isn't that, plus the "bread in it" comment. One of my ways of dealing with suck situations that happen to me is to humorously apply it to situations where it obviously doesn't apply.

I've never gone out of my way to be a douche canoe to anyone on these boards, and honestly thought to elicit a snicker from Jezza.

They're just being stupid Gaevren. I sincerely doubt that Jezza would be offended by the lupus joke since as you said she makes the same joke herself.

no i would tell her that pain is a product of neural function, and what i know about neurons is that they can fire and 'misbehave' for more reasons than a bone pressing upon them. anyone who claims otherwise with unimaginable oversimplifications like nerve pain = pressure on nerve is not educated.

just another snake-oil salesman with no cures, only treatments that can't top a good placebo.

see an MD if at all possible.

this is your back (mainframe) and not to be taken lightly.

especially if you have been trying traditional self help rehab methods and it isn't geting better.

all the more reason to have it peeped by a pro.

Neural circuits in the CNS are susceptible to windup and central sensitization, which are two sources of chronic neuropathic pain associated with nerve injury.

A treatment I would suggest would involve opioids and some sort of massage therapy.
