Sooz, I know a few people like you in real life.

I don't like you.

I put up with you because I don't want anyone to get stabbed and because I'm good at maintaining the peace.

Does that mean I like you? No.. I just pretend to.

I never saw the appeal of being a career pilot. Flying for fun seems awesome. Flying the same route for hours a day as your job? No thanks.

bus drivers in the sky.

and pilots dont make crap until you get to the capt or first officer level on a big jet.

those little 2 engine regional connector pilots start out making around 30k a year.

I looked into, when I was thinking about attending Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa.

You also spend your first several years as an instructor, as it's the only reasonable way to get the required hours to get a real pilot job.

So you have the barely know WTF is going on, teaching the Don't know WTF is going on.

That is why I was looking at Spartan, when you graduate from their pilot program you have around 1000-1500 flight hours with all your different ratings and a bs/ba degree in something aviation related. So you get to skip that step but its still a long ladder to climb before you can earn the big bucks flying 777's and such.

Please warn us of the day you get a pilot license Sith... I want to make sure I never fly again after that as the skies won't be safe.

The college nearby has a degree in Aviation - Helicopter Pilot. I took the first quarter of classes for that, really enjoyed them actually, but then after I was diagnosed with cancer, decided to give it up, I'll be old enough when I get the all clear on my medical that the number of years I could fly will not make up for the $60k cost to get to 1500 hours.

The aviation career path is all sorts of f--ked up. People actually pay to work just to build up hours hoping for a real job...
