I could last about 1-2 months on cash reserves I have now, if I started selling stuff I could last substantially longer.

We make pretty good money between the two of us, but with 3 kids aged 22.5, 22.5, and 17.5 there are still lots of expenses as neither of the oldest are living completely on their own (we are paying for ones living arrangements and the others community college). The youngest has been accepted into and starts in college in the fall. Our house was purchased in 2008 and then promptly went about $75-100k *underwater*. We'd both get max unemployment, but that won't pay all the expenses for much more than 6 months.
Damn, those are all adults pretty much.
Time to cut them loose dad, or at least make them be able to carry some of the weight. No one cares about just a college degree anymore, you need at least some sort of entry level or internship experience to back it up

I'd probably have to got 4 months on government hand outs until my own business got funded.
If I lost my job I'd actually have time to get it started 
I'd probably hire one or two people too to help with first deployment and running things. |

made it 2 month before i had to go for unemployment then it took me 4 months to find a job i was getting desperate. I had applied at all the fast food places, kept getting told i was over qualified, finally got a job saleing parts again. and have been kicking ass ever since.
