We need a high speed rail line. A lot of people would choose that over putting up with all the BS involved in flying these days.

And you want to cost over run something let a government entity run it... ie Amtrack, USPS, etc.

The TSA is already harassing train and bus depots, and Over The Road truckers. Some people in the liberty movement are fighting them but with the establishment media in the pocket of government, they aren't getting much help.

I would much rather take a high speed train and spend a few hours more getting somehwere than deal with getting nickle and dimed by the airlines. The reason our domestic passenger rails are in the state they are in is from lack of upgrades and working on shoe string budgets. Modern rail infrastructure would go along ways to solving most of the problems Amtrak has.
Yes, there will still be safety screening but i have no doubts to the popularity of such a option.

We are still suffering from the infrastructure bubble implemented by FDR and Eisenhower.
We cannot afford the infrastructure we have, what we do not need is an attempt to flush money down the crapper trying to re-inflate the bubble.
