Ron beat Jimmy Carter so badly that even his children would never been allowed to run for a PTA presidency. This years GOP candidate is going to get whooped Jimmy Carter bad.

Jimmy didn't lose to Reagan as badly as Mondale did. That election, with Ronny as a sitting president stomping a challenger, would be a better example of a lopsided re-election.

The GOP, so far removed from reality as they continue to live 200 years in the past.

Behold the power of the media's agenda framing. It has been breathtaking to watch how well they have done this.

Nope, but between, abortion, prayer in public, climate change denial, and whole host of other fundamentalist/moronic stances, the Republicans have done this to themselves.

Doesnt really matter though both Romney and Obama are exactly the same candidate either way.

Ummm?

Wow!

You do actually realize what happened with Carters second election, don't you? Can you sorta see the parallels with the current sitting President? Can you see where this is going? All the GOP has to do is field a reasonable, presentable and sane person to have a rerun of 1980. Granted they have been trying their damnd'est in the primaries to screw this up by presenting incompetent lunatic after incompetent lunatic as perceived front-runners. But in the end Romney is a safe sane candidate. Boring, not a strong following in the deep conservative base. But sane and reasonably competent.

Obama ain't exactly like Carter though, and thats where your analogy falls apart. If there's one thing Obama is good at, it's campaigning and oration.

Well which is it? Is Romney the same as Obama, or is he living 200 years in the past? He can't be both, unless everyone thinks Obama is 200 years in the past too.

Republican overreach will destroy them this election. I know many of you are just as stupid as the average American, and that's pretty damn stupid, and that many of you believe the crap being spewed by the talking heads and you suck up disinformation much more quickly and hold it much more dearly than actual facts...so you will never be swayed by reality, and instead cling ever more tightly to your fantasies. You are a microcosm of the country as a whole, and at this point it's actually almost possible to believe that a Republican nominee has a chance.....if you believe the hype.

The hype is bull however. It ignores the fact that Republican led attacks on women in every state where they hold a majority in state government are being forced thru. Anti-abortion, anti-contraceptive, anti-family leave, anti-equal pay, anti-access to health care......anti-anti-anti-everything.

This trend is not going unnoticed, and fury over it is growing. Yes, apparently even a goodly portion of the women in this country hate women and wish those "sluts" would shut the hell up and get back in the kitchen. But a "goodly portion" is nowhere near a majority, and it includes almost no women under the age of 50. The embrace of circa 1700 "family values" by the Republican party is their death knell.

This election, as usual, will be less about the candidate running for the office, and more about the views and goals of the party the candidate represents. Republican equals "women shut up and realize you are just like a gay man, not worth a god damn thing". Democrat equals "we aren't really sure but at least we don't hate gays and women".

Now, I'm sure many of you think there are plenty enough idiots in this country to allow the Republican party to win elections even with their abomination of a platform, hell look at what they did just 2 years ago right?

But they have screwed the pooch on this one. Too far, massive overreach, and they aren't going to let up. By election time, they will be openly pushing to force women to submit to rape and then she should either kill herself or, preferably, wait 9 months to have her rapists child...THEN kill herself.

Even most Americans aren't that stupid.

Not that we are in a good position now, but how can this country survive the debt of 4 more years or Barry?

I will stop voting for Republicans when Democrats ditch the fiscally irresponsible platform. I really don't care about women's issues. Force them into burkas for all I care. Just stay the &$#* out of my pockets.
