I have to ask.. why do you dislike dany?
It goes back to what I was saying in my book thread...I have a really hard time visualizing everything around her. I cannot identify with her at all. She makes stupid decisions and yet everything turns out fine for her. I just don't like her as a character whatsoever. If she and John are an end-game item because of their *possible* familial lines, I will be very, very unhappy.

Ned wouldn't matter if Sean Bean wasn't playing him.

Ned Mattered quite a bit in the book. I can say that as someone who has only watched three episodes of the show long after finished the first two or three books before hand. . . . Even postmortem, Ned is amongst the most important characters in the story.
I am saying his emotional attachment would have been much less for a lot of people.
Sean Bean was an excellent choice for the part. Perfect might be a better word. Nobody wanted to see him die in it, so it sucks even more.

You have to keep her age and life in mind. Most people these days have just figured out how their boy and girl parts work by the time she'd lost her first husband...

I know, but that's part of why I cannot identify with her. She's younger than my own daughter! It's hard enough identifying with Sansa, but at least I can visualize what she goes through.
Arya and John are my favorites. Everyone else, except maybe Bran, could die and I wouldn't care much.
*edit* I don't mean identify with as myself, but just as an individual.

I liked Dany, right up until A Dance with Dragons, and now I find her nearly intolerable. I'm pretty much left with hoping Tyrion is the sole survivor of the series.
