The television only shows what you want to see. That being said I love Jersey Shore, Dual Surival, Survivorman, and I used to watch Real World back in high school.

I don't mind the talent competition shows (_______'s Got Talent, X Factor, American Idol, etc)...I do not like Survivor at all. I watched the first season off and on, but it was too cheesy.
the other stuff, I totally agree (jersey shore, real world, all of those real housewives crap)...I just don't see how people can know that with their watching it, the retards on the show are getting paid. Making it possible for more of the same crap shows to be made. I mean, how can you even watch a preview of jersey shore and think "WOW, I want to watch that!"???? It makes me gag a little when I see previews for some of those.

I agree with everything so far, and agree that with competition shows, they have been compromising most of those as well.

pretty much this...and with more and them more popping up the more "fake" reality they became if they ever were real reality to begin with.
While from the beginning, they were 'scripted', now it's so obvious, and sad, and not worth watching.
yeah I dont mind the "creative" editing that some shows do where they can make someone look like the good guy or bad guy(mainly the latter) what I hate is when they get people to redo fights or something like that or add in a fight where there wasnt one. Or make a situation out to be worse than it was to begin with. If it wanted to watch something thats that made up I would just watch a regular show like Glee or Law and Order.
