pretty much this...and with more and them more popping up the more "fake" reality they became if they ever were real reality to begin with.

Amazing Race is closer to being reality. I think that's really the problem with reality TV - there isn't much real about them.

they basically ruined television as I knew it. when I was a kid i watched the history channel, discovery channel, and learning channel all the time. but once the real world hit and every network picked up reality shows the once good and holy networks did as well.
with that said there is something legitimate to them. sometimes it is like people watching even though the circumstances are so heavily manipulated.

Yeah, I guess there has been the rare exception... Amazing Race, the occasional Dog Whisperer or cooking show but the scripted sudo reality crap without some purpose behind it I can't stomach.

While from the beginning, they were 'scripted', now it's so obvious, and sad, and not worth watching.

Nope. You have to watch something to get sick of it and I never wasted time with reality shows. Always found them boring.
