that is retarded. who is going to pay for the damage on accident. If my car was hit etc.. I would sue the stupid state for the situation.

I suspect this is a biased report and cost is really at the bottom of this.
It's simple, if they are not payed for after a set amount of time they are auctioned off to the highest bidder.

he's referring to the fact that illegals are responsible for 5 times as many fatal vehicle accidents. if you willingly ignore the law to keep those people on the road you are essentially saying you think its more important that illegals can drive than it is to protect people from the much higher number of accidents they cause.
Yeah, I picked up on that right away. I'm completely against frivolous lawsuits, but I can honestly say that if I were involved in an accident and found that the other driver was unlicensed and an illegal immigrant and had been allowed to retrieve their car from the impound yard, I'd be suing the shyt out of the state for allowing this to happen. I said it before, and I'll say it again: driving is a privilege, not a right.

This is what I don't understand. I need my car to get to my job just as much as that illegal immigrant does. So, it's unfair that a law like that should apply to me, too... We should just strike it form the books and let everyone drive without licenses. I mean, if we're going to be fair about it.

Quite honestly, I could not disagree more with this part of your statement.
Taking the illegal aliens completely out of the equation, American society as a whole has been geared towards personal transportation since the automobile has been introduced. Legal citizens should have every right to drive whether they have a license or not.

To further clarify: Until such a time as there is a reliable, affordable and timely form of transportation in America other than personal, I have no problem with any legal American driving a vehicle. And yes, I believe that is your right as an American.
