I know you mean that to lampoon Republicans, but didn't you ever take a basic business course? That's how professors often teach it. It's nothing political. Each one is a unique legal entity that can sue or be sued, be charged with crimes, fined, punished, forced to pay taxes, have rights, responsibilities, can have siblings, parents, and hell they even have a birth date.

Well if we are talking legal, neither Republican nor Democrat were around when we went off track, as far as a no limit Supreme Court anyway, in Marbury v. Madison in 1803.

Founding fathers have been spinning in their graves for say a 150 years now, when we gave them a lot of this personhood stuff with the Railroads.

Jefferson was right in his December 26, 1825 letter to William Giles, "a single and splendid government of an aristocracy, founded on banking institutions, and moneyed incorporations under the guise and cloak of their favored branches of manufactures, commerce and navigation, riding and ruling over the plundered ploughman and beggared yeomanry."

However James Madison predicted this was all to happen, and he named it right.

“Of all the enemies to public liberty war is, perhaps, the most to be dreaded, because it comprises and develops the germ of every other. War is the parent of armies; from these proceed debts and taxes; and armies, and debts, and taxes are the known instruments for bringing the many under the domination of the few. In war, too, the discretionary power of the Executive is extended; its influence in dealing out offices, honors, and emoluments is multiplied; and all the means of seducing the minds, are added to those of subduing the force, of the people. The same malignant aspect in republicanism may be traced in the inequality of fortunes, and the opportunities of fraud, growing out of a state of war, and in the degeneracy of manners and of morals engendered by both. No nation could preserve its freedom in the midst of continual warfare.”
