Politics would lean towards a no vote since mandated coverage is unpopular.

If based on the law it's really a case of personal judgement, we already can mandate individuals to do things (like if you own a business, you can't refuse service to people based on their race).

And healthcare is a market where someone's lack of participation affects others.. since everyone else has to foot the bill when they go to the emergency room.

If any market should have a government mandate it's healthcare.. the costs are out of control, and people are suffering/dying due to lack of care. A mandate will shift our system towards preventive care, which is a lot cheaper.

If they did their job right, there would be very few 5-4 decisions.

Conservative judges: the law

Liberal judges: emotion and rhetoric/politics

Liberal politics is why mandated coverage was added in, and it was fairly unpopular then as well.

Repeal or FIX the emergency care law(s). Don't run 16% of the US economy through the Federal Beaurocracy.

In answer to the poll, I know 4 who will rule on politics, and 3 of them are women.

No, it's because the only way you can have universal healthcare is with a mandate. Otherwise you'll still have people opting out whenever they want.

Doesn't sound like you know what the bill is. Government doesn't run the actual healthcare system, people still get healthcare through whatever provider they want.

Unfortunately for conservatives, the US aspires to be a humane society and we don't just let people die on the streets.

All of the above. Some will base it on politics, and a tiny few, maybe just one of them, will base it on the law.
