Oh and there has to be a rule somewhere about cold weather climates.

Guaranteed that Canada isn't "ideal driving conditions."

Oil changes aren't a scam I've personally seen the damage from not changing the oil. how ever i run 10k between oil changes on my truck but that pig takes 14 quarts per change and i run 5-6k in my cars and vans. most cars are good to 5k because the quality of oil/engines has come up.

This thread begs the question: do the "women" of ACF use a funnel to get that much sand in their vagina or do they just slide around the beach like an angry Roomba? -deadcactus-

I put more than 400K miles on my last Honda Civic.

I might have changed the oil 3 times. Probably only twice though.

I have 280K on my F150.....can't remember ever changing the oil. Know I haven't changed it in the last 10 years.

Oil changes are the biggest scam in automotive history.

It's a marketing ploy to get you to come into the shop so they can sell you other shiz you don't need like air filters.

damn you guys need to find a more reputable shop for your service work the place i work at we would never do isht like that. its bad for business.plus it feels damn good to tell some one "your car is in great shape there is nothing that needs to be done right now" that kind of honesty is very refreshing to work with/for.

Just took mine in this morning for an oil change.

I stick to the recommended oil change mileage.

It's $40.00...rather dish that out and not worry about damaging my truck than try and save a bit of cash and always wonder...

But my delight, yes, always mine,
Is to dance with Jak o' the Shadows.

With the wacky weather in Vegas, I get the oil in my car and jeep changed 2 times in the summer (at the start of June then the start of September), then once again around the end of March.

Yeah, I don't screw around with oil changes here either. You can always tell when the high temps start kicking in by all the cars you see on the side of the road. I'd rather pony up the $ for the every 3/3 oil change than the $$$ for engine repairs.

I wish mine was only $40........ usually it's $75-$85 to have mine changed.
