If you take the annuity instead of a lump sum, you're insane.

Where you getting 6% interest returns from? Spain bonds?

Finally, some more realism in this here thread. Everyone needs to squander it, and let's knock all that charity BS off. You know that won't happen. You will HATE charities a week after you win the lotto because they'll be bugging the ever loving crap out of you, INCLUDING the ones you used to like.

that depends entirely how large your ambition is.
500M taken over 20 years or in a lump sum is more than I could spend. I would probably take it in lump and spend a lot of millions in real estate. Probably the safest shelter I could put $ in. It would not be all in one parcel either.
